Certified Personal Trainer Austin Interview | Nick Kosik

Nick Kosik is a Certified Personal Trainer in Austin, TX.

Get to know this week’s RightFit Personal Training featured trainer, Nick Kosik. He is an Austin native, former collegiate football player, and currently working on his M.A. in Sport Psychology. His specialty includes teaching a beginner, progressing an intermediate, and making a elite athlete more efficient.

Why did you become a personal trainer?

My entire family is in the fitness industry, I have always been involved in fitness, it’s in my blood. I played collegiate sports where I transitioned into competing in CrossFit. This direction helped me learn what I knew with elite athletes and be able to channel that same progress into beginners.

What are your favorite things about being a personal trainer?

I love to see each of my clients personal growth. Its a good feeling to see someone is a place where I, myself, used to be, and with my knowledge and through my own personal journey, help them grow into a successful person.

If you could train one celebrity, who would it be and why?

I would love to train The Rock, Dwayne Johnson. I love his mindset and personality. Not only would he challenge me as a trainer, but I would be able to challenge him by keeping his goals in line with his lifestyle.

If you had one workout style to describe yourself, what would it be?

Full-Body-Functional-Efficiency. It depends purely on your specific goals and what you are trying to achieve.

In your mind, what is the single biggest benefit for someone to hire a personal trainer?

Be able to have the personal trainer give the honest assessment that everyone needs in their person lives. The need someone to help them set goals, inspire them, motivate them, push them, and allow them to be the person they know they can be, if only they had someone to walk with through this journey.

What are your hobbies?

I enjoy making homemade sourdough bread, playing guitar, taking my dog on walks, and spending time with good company.

Any guilty pleasures?

I love tortilla chips. Put a basket or bag in front of me and its going to take all my willpower, and then some, to not start crunching away.
