About Matt
You want your body to indicate wellness inside and out. It will be a vehicle of energy, confidence, and joy every day. I realize that it takes more than just technical knowledge to build a lifestyle of vitality. It’s an emotional and psychological battle as well. Newbies/beginners are my favorite to work with and are my specialty! 95% of people who train with me once stay with me! With a last name like Bench, it almost felt like destiny; but I introduce myself as a Fitness Lifestyle Coach.

Training philosophy
Sustainability! Improper exercise can do harm to joints and tissues; proper choices must be made if I want my clients to be working out past their 80's. I help clients explore what unique approach they have toward movement.
A typical session
A marathon not a sprint. Educational and support environment. You won’t be incredibly sore don’t worry; the intensity will be just right, like Goldilocks’ porridge. Sometimes I ask clients to do self-talk in a small mirror. Unconditional self-love brings an attitude necessary for long-term results and enjoyability to the process.
Client success story
Client with with back pain for years (after a car wreck) without being able to figure out how to work out or be pain free. She enjoys slamming medicine balls down after powerfully scooping them up. A great stress relief from her busy work day. We ignited her love for body-weight and gymnastics-like training. She is addicted and is likely a life-long exerciser never to take for granted the ability to move her body confidently ever again.
