Healthy eating is a key factor in reaching your fitness goals, in addition to staying physically active. For a lot of people in Austin, they recognize the importance of working out and staying active, yet have a hard time giving up one of their favorites, pizza. Yet, Austin has plenty of options to consider, if you have that craving for pizza, but don’t want anything too unhealthy. For that reason, we have asked some of our Austin certified personal trainers to let us know where their favorite spots are to grab some pizza that doesn’t completely go against staying healthy. See below to read their choices, as well as a description on each place.
Marye’s pizza has been a local favorite for twenty years, serving pizza salad and sandwiches to their customers in Austin. What makes Marye’s stand out is their locally sourced organic ingredients, and handcrafted sauces and salad dressings which are handcrafted daily. To ensure a delicious golden crust they allow the dough to rest a day then hand toss it. The Margherita pizza, which is made of olive oil, tomatoes, garlic, basil and house-made fresh mozzarella, is a favorite. Additionally, if you are looking for just a slice, you can get one from 11:00 AM to 6:00 PM.

Pizza day partnered with Chef Reginaldo Bertosi, who has had twenty five years experience in Italian Cuisine and won awards including best pizza chef of New York according to the New York Post. Since brining him on Pizza Day has added new items to their menu, including five new types of pizza.
