About Ryan Crandall

Hello, I’m Ryan Crandall. I’ve had a knack for understanding and learning about the human body and mind since I was a young boy. Many trips to the hospital E.R. with numerous sprains, strains, and fractures spurred a never ending curiosity to learn more about why I was getting hurt and to try to understand pain. I have an educational background in Biology, Rehab and Psychology, and I love to study in order to help my clients function and move better with less pain. It’s what I do, and I do it well.

In addition to being a Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA), I’m a Certified Fall Prevention Specialist, creator of my own unique style of yoga, author, & past educator to up and coming personal trainers. I’m the only Functional Aging Specialist in the state of New Mexico from the esteemed Functional Aging Institute. Additionally, I’m also a Certified Brain Health Trainer from the Functional Aging Insititue and all around movement specialist. Furthermore, I’m only one of two Fellows of Applied Functional Science from the world esteemed Gray Institute in the state of New Mexico. Finally, I’m working on my Therapeutic Pain Specialist Certification at the International Spine and Pain Institute. Currenly, I work full-time as a Physical Therapist Assistant as a contractor at Sandia national laboratories here in Albuquerque New Mexico.

I thoroughly enjoy helping people have more fun and functional lives with less pain & injuries. Funny thing, via my approach, people end up often LOSING fat, gaining energy, and gaining muscle. Let’s LEARN together and make your journey to health FUN and LIFE LONG!

This depends on the goals of the client. I work with the needs of the client and we develop a plan together to get them to where they want to be. This generally includes a blend of mobility, strength, power, coordination, endurance, and balance training.

Client success story

“When I turned 70 a year ago, I realized that while I was in good health and weight, and fairly active (avid hiker), I certainly needed to greatly improve my overall strength, balance, mobility, and body conditioning, as I continue to “chronologically advance”! I went on a search and thankfully found Ryan Crandall…a trained physical therapist asst. who specializes in working with seniors! We have been working together for a year now, and I am much stronger, have better balance, and continue to progress! Ryan is very knowledgeable, is patient and encouraging, but also presses me to tackle more strenuous work that he knows I am capable of. I am looking forward to another year of progress working with Ryan!”

–Karen Stone, a very appreciative and happy client.

Hobbies
