Training Philosophy
Every person’s body is unique just as every person’s goals, abilities, and limitations are. I also believe core stability is key to any great training program. Without it, you open yourself up to muscle imbalances which can lead to injury.

Typical Training Session

Of course, it depends on the goals of the individual. After an overall health check-in, a typical strength training session for a healthy client would start with a warm-up, including active stretches. We would move on to some core activation before working on the muscle group(s) that need attention that day. I usually start with compound movement and then work towards the smaller muscle groups. A cool-down is usually stretching. I may then give the client some exercises or stretches to work on until I see them next.

Client success story

A lovely lady in her 70s came to me complaining of chronic back pain due to her severe scoliosis. She also was osteoporotic and prone to injuries and falls. We worked on balance, core and multi planar movement patterns. In the eight years that I trained her, she never had any injuries, falls or back pain. She was amazed at what strengthening her body could do for her. She always thought that if she stayed away from exercise, she would never hurt herself. But it was quite the opposite!
