About John T

My name is John and I’ve been a Certified Athletic Trainer since 2014. Contrary to popular belief, an Athletic Trainer is an allied healthcare professional rather than someone who trains athletes. However, due to my personal interest in strength training and general health, I obtained multiple certifications in corrective exercise, performance enhancement, and strength and conditioning. I have implemented that training with professional athletes as well as the general population, and have seen tremendous success in preventing injury, rehabilitating from injury, and improving overall physical function.

I am currently pursuing my Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy and my goal is to be able to help anyone reach their highest physical potential, no matter where they are in their fitness journey.

Training Philosophy
You can’t go wrong getting strong. Feeling better and looking better is about consistently training strength and mobility. There’s no secret sauce and no magic exercise! The key is CONSISTENCY, which is gained through finding ENJOYMENT in training.

Training Professionally Since

Typical Training Session

My initial assessment is spent gathering your training and injury history, finding your functional limitations, and establishing goals. The next few training sessions are spent testing main movements and further honing in on the program that is best for you. After that, it’s about maintaining consistency and making small tweaks to the program based on your needs and wants.

I take a no-nonsense, detailed approach to training, but my personality is naturally centered around humor and having fun.

Client success story

I’ve helped a post-stroke patient gain the conditioning to hike in Hawaii, a woman lose 30 pounds and be self-sustaining in the gym, and multiple athletes address strength deficits, perform on the field, and get drafted to the pros. ANY story of gaining strength to fulfill a goal is important to me!

Hobbies
Weightlifting, playing golf, cooking, and anything to do with sports.
