About Darlene Thurm

I’m a personal trainer in the Sugar Land area and I have become a local fitness expert for weight management, nutrition, and human performance. During my 15 years in the health and fitness industry, I have trained a variety of clients, have been a local spokesperson for cancer rehab and prevention and recently launched a news letter with Ideal Fitness.

My approach to fitness is both unique and compelling. I use a three dimensional approach which includes the mind, body, and spirit. This approach has been extremely functional and effective in helping my clients achieve their individual fitness goals.

I’m an examiner in the fitness industry for personal training, I do public speaking for cancer rehabilitation and weight loss, and fitness business consulting. I hold numerous personal training certifications including the highly coveted National Academy of Sports Medicine’s (NASM) Optimum Performance Training© (OPT) and Professional Fitness Instructor Training (PFIT) which was part of Baylor College of Sports Medicine, American Council on Exercise (ACE) Personal Training; American Council on Exercise (ACE) Lifestyle and Weight Management Coach; American Heart Association (CPR); Certified Cancer Exercise Specialist through Leading Edge Fitness.

Whether you want to look good for your wedding, vacation, slim down, add lean muscle mass, or if you simply lack the knowledge to design an effective exercise program you should work with a personal trainer. My extensive fitness knowledge delivers structure, measurable results, variety, and motivation to your workouts. I teach you why you’re doing an exercise along with the form and function. We will start with an initial consultation to assess your current state of health and define your fitness goals. This gives us an agreed starting point, and also a benchmark against which to measure our progress. We will change your exercise regularly, not only for variety, but also to allow for continued progression.

We will consistently have scheduled appointments, which is a discipline that is great for maintaining your motivation. Not only will you have someone else to keep you accountable, you’ll also be taking part in a structured and realistic program designed to deliver maximum results in the minimum amount of time. The emphasis will be making your exercise program educational and fun, so that you have the motivation to not only meet, but exceed your goals.
