About Chase

Growing up as a competitive athlete, I have always been fascinated by the human body and its ability to perform, adapt, and change over time. At the same time, I always admired those who had an innate ability to coach/teach others how to move their bodies to achieve a desired outcome. After years of athletics came to an end, I still felt a need for competition, physical challenges, and a need to push myself, much like my coaches did over the years, and while I found this through my personal journey with health and fitness, I also learned that I loved coaching and teaching others what I spent so much time learning for myself. I graduated from Arizona State University in 2012 with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology and began a career in Personal Training. As many prior athletes who pursue training, I thought my ideal client would be just another athlete but I was pleasantly surprised and fortunate to have the opportunity to work with a wide range of clientele over the years, ranging from previously sedentary individuals and first time gym-goers, to amateur bodybuilders and powerlifters, and athletes. I strongly believe in strength training/resistance training as a pillar of everyone’s exercise regimen. I place emphasis on mastering many basic, foundational exercises, taught with attention to proper technique and slow but steady progression of these exercises over time to ensure improvements in strength, body composition, and an overall feeling of wellbeing, while minimizing risk of injury.

Training philosophy

“Do more with less.” Proper form, controlled movement, thought out programming and slow but steady progression maximizes results and limits injury without overdoing it.

A typical session

Each workout starts with a guided full-body warm up, starting with a light form of cardio followed by dynamic stretching. The workout itself will start with priorities/specializations if applicable (example: John wants bigger arms or Jane wants more muscle in her legs). From there, I provide each client with a copy of their program from the start, so they know what the session will entail and we will progress through the session together with periods of rest and coaching/corrections as needed. Lastly, I often encourage clients to cool down/stretch on their own if we have run out of time. If time allows, I will actively stretch them and show them variations that they can perform on their own.

Client success story

Brett came to me during my time at Mountainside Fitness in Phoenix, AZ and had never lifted weights before but wanted to put on some muscle. He had a congenital heart condition that wouldn’t allow him to lift heavy weight overhead, per his doctor’s orders. I had to get creative with his upper body routine to provide enough variety to keep him excited but also provide results while never lifting directly overhead. Over the course of 3+ years with me, he went from never doing more than a few dumbbell curls in his life to gaining more than 25lbs of muscle, bench pressing 75lb dumbbells, and a fascination with his body’s abilities that he took with him and continued to train after he moved to a different state.
