About Isabel Chamberlin

I worked for forty years in different corporate sales jobs; the last twenty years spent selling office furniture. At the age of sixty, I was experiencing severe career burnout and stress. I had also developed degenerative arthritis in both hips and lived in constant pain for four years. I had both my hips replaced and after getting my new hips, it was like getting a second chance at life and I decided to do something I loved rather than just work to make money. I realized I could turn my lifelong love of health and fitness into a new career. In 2013 I decided to utilize my knowledge of working out and nutrition to pursue a career as a certified personal trainer. I decided to change my life to help others change theirs.

I have been working out and active for most of my life and lifting weights for over thirty years. I have competed as a bodybuilder, worked as a personal trainer at Ballys, City of Lakewood and City of Aurora recreation centers. I also won the Max Muscle Maxformation contest. I have a complete gym in my basement and have been training people on a part-time basis at my home gym for about twelve years. After leaving my previous sales career, I enrolled in and completed the extensive eight month Personal Trainer Academy at the Community College of Aurora. Upon completion of the program, I obtained my National Strength and Conditioning Association certification. In addition to this certification, I am also certified as a senior exercise specialist, senior strength and conditioning specialist and have my CPR/AED certification.

Training Philosophy
I believe resistance training (with or without weights) is the best way to tone up and lose weight.

Training Professionally Since

Typical Training Session

My first session is always a complete fitness assessment to help establish a baseline so clients can track their improvement. I also work on goal setting and require all clients keep a food diary using My Fitness Pal so I can analyze their nutritional needs. Additional sessions include a personalized weight training plan designed specifically for each client’s goals.

Client success story

I recently helped a client with MS, asthma, hormonal issues & a family history of obesity improve her health & balance, get stronger & lose weight.
