About Lauren Dufrene

I’ve been a personal trainer and group fitness instructor since 2013. I am a Iowa native with a diverse athletic background that has influenced and shaped the way I train clients. I grew up playing traditional sports like soccer, softball, basketball and track. I’ve also had the pleasure of coaching sports and was fortunate to compete at the collegiate level myself. My knowledge and influences over the years has shaped the way I train my clients today. After graduating from McNeese State University with a Master’s degree in Exercise Physiology, I became a personal trainer through ACSM EP-C with the sole purpose to help people achieve their health and fitness goals. My exercise programs tend to emphasize functional strength training, core strength, agility and high-intensity interval training. As a trainer, the most rewarding part of my job is helping clients reach their goals while they gain strength, mobility, and confidence.
Although I enjoy working with a diverse range of people and abilities, I have also helped people recover from injuries or living with chronic illnesses during my time working in physical therapy. I also try to work in as much education as my clients are interested in, so you know what you’re doing and why, with the hope that you can gain the confidence to workout independently.
I care about my clients, and there’s nothing more important to me than helping somebody go through an experience that makes them happy, confident and strong. I know how being overweight affects your whole life, and I want to be there for those who want to bring about change. I want to help you discover the benefits of training that have helped me become the person I am today, and I’m here to guide you every step of the way. I understand that life can be hectic and it’s often tough to find time to work out. I’ve been there myself, and I’ve made every excuse in the book. Fitness isn’t just about weight loss or just getting in shape, it’s about improving quality of life.
