About Melissa Perkins

I’ve been a Certified Personal Trainer, Strength and Conditioning Specialist and Nutrition Coach for 27 years. I have a BS in Athletic Training and a Masters Degree in Heath Promotion and I use that knowledge to help my clients in aspects of health and wellness beyond exercise-like nutrition, stress management, proper sleep and recovery.
Many of my clients have medical conditions, have injuries, are athletes, or are menopausal women. I’ve been very successful helping my clients lose weight, get in shape and just be healthier overall using a positive approach that doesn’t involve diets or excessive exercise. My clients range in age from 8-88. I love what I do because seeing someone improve, get stronger, fitter, feel better or get better at their sport is so rewarding!

Training Philosophy
I train the body to function better, improving strength and stamina. I also want to make exercising something enjoyable for my clients, something that is challenging, but not overwhelming. I’m your biggest chearleader!

Training Professionally Since
March 1, 1997

Typical Training Session

I focus on bringing what my client needs that day-if I have to adjust my plan because they are more fatigued or have a nagging injury or just aren’t mentally motivated, I am very good at adjusting their workouts to still give them a good workout and leave them feeling better than before their session.
I challenge my clients, but I don’t push too far. I aim to make their workouts something they look forward to. Our sessions would include mobility, strength training, conditioning, and flexibility.

Client success story

“Fell off the wagon for a while. But I’m slowly climbing back onto it. 11pounds down. 9more to go!
Did I mention how much I love my trainer
Melissa Sedlak Perkins? Well, I love her!
She’s awesome!”-Amoy A.

“I’m not usually one to care about the number on the scale, I mostly just care what this body can do.
But this year my body started gaining weight for no apparent reason (thanks peri-menopause). So have spent a lot of time, money, and energy this year working with a variety of nutrition coaches trying to find something that works for my body, allows me to maintain a healthy weight and still build strength.
I’m happy to say that things are finally heading in the right direction again thanks to my nutrition coach Melissa Sedlak Perkins“-Christy S.

Hobbies
I absolutely love to travel! I love shopping and spending time with my dogs. I’m also an avid hiker and skier.
