About Laura Maslanka

I have been in the fitness industry for almost ten years and have worked with a variety of clients ranging in age, fitness level, and ability. I have helped clients to rehab injuries, achieve weight loss goals, to perform better in sport and in everyday life, and improve balance, posture and mobility. My passion for health and fitness started when I trained for my first marathon. Everyone started asking me questions about my training, nutrition and mileage, and I enjoyed talking about it so much that I wanted to become a personal trainer and make a career out of helping people achieve more than they thought possible. I have gone on to train for and run 30 marathons (and counting) and have completed all 6 of the World Marathon Majors and earned the title of Six Star Champion.

Training Philosophy
I believe in using many elements of fitness training to achieve one fit body

Training Professionally Since

Typical Training Session

I take the goals of my client seriously and do my best to make the workouts tailored to the client’s goal and ability level. I believe in using many elements of fitness to achieve a goal or a fit body so you can expect a different workout each time to keep you engaged and excited. I also like to teach while I train to let the client know what muscles we are working and why it is important in the process of reaching your goal. I also ensure proper form, technique and safety of the client to prevent injuries (or making a current injury worse). If a client enjoys a sport and wants to get better at it, I design fun sport-specific workouts to challenge them. The workouts progressively get harder as the client gets better, because setting small goals make for big results and a happy, more confident client along the way.

Client success story

I worked with a pre-diabetic client who needed to lose weight. He wasn’t interested in running, outside of the sports he previously engaged in but as we started working together he developed an interest in it and ran outside of his sessions with me. I supported his interest and helped him to become a stronger runner. He also attended the weekly run club I created and his casual interest turned into signing up for his first 5K. He rocked the 5K, as well as an 8K and a 10 miler! He lost 40lbs in the process, was no longer pre-diabetic and gained confidence in a sport he didn’t realize he had a talent for. Not all of my clients run and that is just fine. I take the goals and interests of my clients seriously. No matter what their goal or interest, they have my full support.
