About Hilary Brown

Originally from MT, I have been in CO for 10 years now and love it. I grew up very physically inactive. I did not play sports, and PE class was a massive source of anxiety for me growing up. I used to get suspended for skipping PE because it terrified and humiliated me so much, and the superintendent let me come out of suspension ONLY for PE class. In college, I gained the ‘freshman 15’ every year of school and that continued every year after I graduated until I was 24. I was binge drinking every day and living off nothing but fast food, DQ blizzards, caramel chocolate chip frappucinos, pizza, and pasta drowning in alfredo. I could not stand the sight of myself anymore. I was also pre-diabetic, and that terrified me. I knew that when I was 50 or 60 (if I made it that far), my quality of life was going to be garbage, and I’d only have myself to blame. I began exercising and changing my diet while also deep diving into nutrition and exercise every day in my spare time. I eventually became a CPT because I completely changed my own life and wanted to help others do the same. I got hired at a gym and within 8 months, I had about 20 clients and was teaching 2 bootcamp classes per day. I eventually went to work for one of my clients and began training clients on my own. My dream is to help clients through their own journey and help them find what works for them. I think a lot of people continue to procrastinate on taking back their health because they think they have to do so much that it will be completely miserable, and that’s just not true. Health and wellness does not have to be all-consuming to see results.

Training Philosophy
A good workout should cultivate more energy than it takes from you. Health and wellness should fit into your life and schedule and be something you look forward to. Living well doesn't need to be chore.

Training Professionally Since
August 20, 2023

Typical Training Session

Every session will begin with a mobility focused warm-up. Each warm-up move is chosen based on what the client will be doing in their workout to properly prepare the body for what’s to come. The warm-up moves are also chosen specifically on the client’s weak areas in mobility. The workout itself will always be personalized to the client’s goals and needs but will always be strength-training based. Since most clients do 1-3 days a week, sessions are typically total body. Clients will see many of the same exercises and movement patterns over and over again, as repetition is necessary for improvement and growth. Phases will change every 4-6 weeks, which is when sets, reps, and breaks are changed, as well as some new exercises per movement pattern.

Client success story

I trained with Hilary for almost a year until moving out of state, and it was one of the best decisions I’ve made for my health. I lost 23 pounds and noticed a huge difference in muscle tone and how my body looked. She really helped me feel comfortable in a gym. She taught me how to put together a proper workout too, rather than going in and choosing random exercises, which is all I’ve ever done. I’ve worked with 3 other trainers before Hilary and think that her personal experience with not playing sports and changing her own health gives her an unique advantage as a trainer because she understood where I was coming from more than the others. My past trainers all made me feel like I was always making excuses, and Hilary was always willing to meet me where I was at and readjust if needed. She’s also very warm and funny, so our sessions flew by. I always dreaded exercise and going to the gym until my time with her. I could never thank her enough and would still be training with her had I not moved for work. -Krisha K.

Hobbies
I absolutely love to read. I also love anything that keeps me moving, so I do a lot of hiking and biking. No matter what I'm doing, I'm probably listening to hip-hop while doing it.
