We all know moms are amazing. To celebrate Mother’s Day, we are featuring some of our RightFit moms. In between their busy personal training schedules and personal lives, they still find time to raise their children. Keep reading to find out how they do it and what are some on-the-go necessities.

Mom and DaughterHow do you balance your personal training business and personal life?

Bennie C: I make sure I schedule in family time first when planning my monthly schedule. My 10 month old baby boy keeps me busy running around chasing him so I make sure when we are at home cell phone are on do not disturb during non working hours

Cristina P: I am very lucky to have a husband who has a good schedule. He is is a firefighter and works every 3rd day. He spends most days with our daughter and I take off 1 full day a week. I also decided when I had her that I wouldn’t work evenings anymore. I come in at 6am and am out by 1pm typically!

What advice would you give a busy mom who cares about her health but has yet to take the plunge into fitness? How does she begin?

Bennie C: Definitely set a goal and write it down. Then find the day and time (even if 1 hour once a week) and commit to it. It’s your mommy time. Your health needs you as much as your family does, so make it a priority.

Cristina P: Take care of yourself FIRST. You must be able to take care of yourself before you can take care of others. Being in good health and exercising will make the world of a difference in your life and your family!

When do you squeeze your fitness time? Morning Workout or Night Workout?

Bennie C: It depends on the day. When I have morning clients I tend to workout in the evenings and vice versa.

Cristina P: Always a morning workout. I put it in my calendar and make sure I have at least an hour to myself. Since having my daughter, I’ve condensed my workouts to 4x a week, but I make it work and count.

Favorite on-the-go snack?

Bennie C: Homemade granola bar: melted dark chocolate mixed in with almonds, pecans, peanuts and granola. Yummy!

Cristina P: Almonds. I always have a prepared meal as well like chicken and veggies. I’ll eat it cold if I have to. I always make sure to have REAL food on me.

What item do you always carry with you in your gym bag?

Bennie C: A bottle of Life or Core water, extra gym pants and top, small towel, workout book and portable breast milk pump lol

Cristina P: A brush, emergency food like nuts, water bottle (a liter), and always an extra pair of gym shoes. I have a problem with shoes…

Anything else you would like to add?

Bennie C: Being a mom is an outstanding accomplishment, it requires so much sacrifice, diligence and passion. Being a trainer and working with clients is as exciting and motivating as keeping yourself healthy and active. Fitness should not be boring or a drag, it’s so refreshing and I try everyday to inspire my clients to love it.

Cristina P: Being a fit mom IS possible. I like to show other moms AND most importantly, my daughter, that taking care of yourself and staying healthy is the best gift you can give your family.
