About Heidi Weinberg

I am passionate about helping people stay independent as they age! My background as a Functional Aging Specialist, along with Delay the Disease (an evidence-based Parkinson’s exercise program), as well as over 6 years experience, qualify me to help you!
I have helped many older adults stay active and be able to keep doing what they love. I’ve worked with people with pre-hab (exercises to strengthen prior to knee or hip replacement), people with MS, people with Parkinson’s and other neurological issues, as well as people facing aging issues.

Training Philosophy
I focus on helping you stay independent and overcome any barriers to that. I believe core strength and glute strength are keys to continuing to move and perform activities of daily living as you age. Balance is a big part of my programming, as well.

Training Professionally Since

Typical Training Session

A specialized program written just for you – that centers around your needs and any limitations you may have. I incorporate exercises that target your goals.
We start with a warm up including glute and core activation. Then move onto specific exercises targeting your goals – balance, gait training, pre-hab, etc.
The next segment includes more strength moves and possibly power moves (power for older adults is much different than power for younger clients!). Power is more important as we age than strength.
We end with stretching!

Client success story

I worked with a 92 year old woman with Parkinson’s for 1 1/2 years. Her daughter called me today and had this to say:
“Thank you for everything you did for my mom. You truly extended her life and made it much more enjoyable. You gave her the ability to walk and do things she otherwise would have been unable to do.”

My first client was a man in his 70s with Parkinson’s Disease. He saw me 3 times a week. His wife signed him up because he was falling. We did targeted exercises for balance and gait, along with some strength training and power training. 3 months in, he could walk backward with more control and without falling.
